Drug, Weapons Charges Filed After Car Crash

Anne Arundel County Police arrested a Linthicum man after a Brooklyn Park crash.

A Linthicum man faces weapons and drug-trafficking charges after Anne Arundel County Police smelled the odor of marijuana at a traffic accident.

The crash was reported about 5 p.m. Tuesday at Rt. 648 and Belle Grove Road in the Brooklyn Park area.

Officers at the scene smelled marijuana coming from one of the vehicles involved in the collision. As police searched that vehicle, the suspect reportedly became uncooperative and was detained by officers.

During the vehicle search officers located about 115.4 grams of marijuana, $1,125 in cash, and a loaded .45 caliber Taurus PT145 handgun.
