Gampopa Center

The Gampopa Center is a spiritual community, where we learn and practice the teachings (philosophy, meditation, and science of mind) of the Buddha. Our Dharma center holds a variety of spiritual practices, ranging from meditation to philosophical study and sadhana practices. Rooted in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, the Gampopa Center draws on the teachings and practices of countless realized figures across many different lineages and schools of thought. When it comes to Dharma studies and activities, we consider ourselves as nonsectarian followers of the Buddha, whereby we invite Dharma teachers from all major traditions of Buddhism, to teach Dharma in ways that preserve those different traditions. However, when we are doing more serious and specific Dharma practices, we follow the Kadam masters and the Kagyu lineage of Vajrayana. The Gampopa Center is located at 1831 Forest Drive, Suite C, in Annapolis, Maryland. Founded by Lama Phurbu Tashi Rinpoche, the center serves as a welcoming space for individuals to explore the philosophy and science of mind through the authentic teachings of the Buddha. By providing a physical sanctuary in the heart of Annapolis, the center fosters a supportive environment for local practitioners and visitors alike. Visitors can expect a compassionate and inclusive atmosphere that emphasizes practical wisdom for daily life. All are welcome

The St. Anne's Concert Series welcomes a performance presented by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and its U.S. Ambassador H.E. Jean-Paul Senninger, called  the Sounds of Luxembourg featuring trumpet and organ. Performing are award-winning organist Maurice Clement and distinguished trumpet player Marc Weydert. This concert is free to all. Clement is also a music historian and theorist and has been resident organist at the Philharmonie Luxembourg since 2007. He is considered one of the most innovative organists in the Grand Duchy, according to a release. Weydert, currently with Luxembourg's Mission to the United Nations in New York, has been awarded prizes in both trumpet and orchestra conducting. He has performed as trumpet soloist, orchestra conductor and choir conductor in Luxembourg, Belgium, France, Austria and the U.S. He is principal trumpet of the United Nations Symphony Orchestra in New York. The St. Anne's Concert Series is presented by Live Arts Maryland, J. Ernest Green, music director, in partnership with St. Anne's Parish, Amy R. Richter, rector.
