Gov. Hogan's Christmas Poem: Visions Of Maryland Blue Crabs

Gov. Larry Hogan had some fun with a Maryland version of the poem "Twas The Night Before Christmas."

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Reading "Twas The Night Before Christmas" is a tradition for many Maryland families. This year, Gov. Larry Hogan put his own spin on the classic poem. His version included references to legislation, former governors, Maryland blue crab, and a lump of coal for Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller.

The reindeer names called out in the Hogan version included Ehrlich, Hughes, Glendening and Agnew.

The classic by Clement Clarke Moore begins with: 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse." In Hogan's poem, he opens with: "Twas the night before Christmas when all through the statehouse, not a creature was stirring not even a mouse. The troopers were guarding Government House with care in the hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there."
