Loaded Gun Found During Severn Traffic Stop, Leads To Arrest Of Baltimore Man: Police

Police said they found a loaded gun and suspected marijuana during a Severn traffic stop. Officers reported arresting the Baltimore suspect.

SEVERN, MD — Police said they found a loaded gun and suspected marijuana during a Severn traffic stop on Sunday. Officers reported arresting the Baltimore suspect. Authorities identified the accused driver as 22-year-old Dwight Dakari Jones.

Officials noted that they stopped a silver 2004 Toyota Corolla near Annapolis Road and 20th Street around 1:55 a.m. An incident report added that the officer smelled marijuana coming from the car, leading to a vehicle search. The Anne Arundel County Police Department explained that it found a:

  • Loaded 19-mm Glock 17 handgun
  • Small amount of suspected marijuana
