ANNAPOLIS, MD — An armed robber picked the wrong hotel clerk to hold up, say authorities, after the man left empty-handed.

Anne Arundel County Police were called to the Annapolis area Extended Stay America, 120 Admiral Cochrane Drive, about 6:45 a.m. The suspect entered the lobby, showed a handgun to the clerk on duty, and demanded cash.

But, the clerk told the robber she had no money, and the suspect fled without obtaining any cash or items. Several officers searched the area for the suspect without success.
