Intruder Tries To Strangle Annapolis Woman: Police
An Annapolis man is in jail after he allegedly broke into a woman's house and tried repeatedly to strangle her, police say.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — An Annapolis woman awoke Monday morning to noises in her house and found a man had entered her house, possibly through a second-story window. The break-in happened about 8:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Cutter Court. The woman told Annapolis Police that the intruder was a man she knew, Rondell Johnson, 30, of Annapolis.
Johnson and the victim argued and then Johnson struck the victim in the face, police say. Johnson strangled the victim twice causing her to almost pass out. The victim was able to get free and ran to the front door, shouting to people outside to call the police, which they did.
Authorities say Johnson caught up to her and tried to strangle her a third time, only stopping when police officers arrived. Johnson was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree assault, along with first-, third-, and fourth-degree burglary, and false imprisonment.
