Landmark will now take over the nine-screen theater situated just of Maryland Route 2. The new tenant signed a long-term lease, but Landmark President Kevin Holloway did not mention the length of the agreement.

“We’re excited to broaden our presence in Maryland by adding this beautifully redesigned luxury theatre within a vibrant lifestyle center,” Holloway said in a press release announcing the news on April 5. “We look forward to welcoming the local community to a summer slate of quality specialty and mainstream fare.”

This will be Landmark's second theater in Maryland. The company also has a venue on Bethesda Row and two locations in Washington, D.C.

Michael Fant, senior vice president of real estate and development, represented Landmark in the lease negotiations. William Winterburn, Lerner's vice president of retail leasing, handled the landlord's side of the talks.

"Landmark is a dominant operator in the movie industry with over 200 screens in major cities throughout the country," Winterburn said. "In addition to feature first run movies, Landmark offers independent, art, and international films to a broad spectrum of movie goers."

The movie theater will be located at 2474 Solomons Island Road.
