Man Stabbed After Confronting Suspects Near His Car

Also in Annapolis Police reports: a resident called police after a man was seen checking to see if vehicles were locked.

In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 198 calls for service and arrested 24 people.

Burglary – Unit block of Brewer St – 01/01 at 7pm: A vacant home was entered after a rear window was broken. Nothing was stolen from the home, but property was damaged.

Burglary – 1300 block of McKinley St – 01/02 at 4pm to 01/03 at 9am: A silver Schwinn bicycle with a green Monster drink sticker on the frame and a silver cup holder on the handlebars was stolen from an unlocked shed.

Stabbing – Creek Court and Yawl Road – 01/03 at 9am: The adult male victim reported that he was outside in the area when he saw two men near his parked vehicle. The victim thought they were trying to break into his vehicle, so he yelled at them. The men walked toward him and he shoved one of them. Then one of the suspects stabbed him in the arm with an unknown weapon. The victim was treated at Anne Arundel Medical Center for his injuries and released.

Burglary – Unit block of Murray Avenue – 12/24 at 5pm to 12/25 at 2pm: An Apple iPhone 4 and red Jawbone JAMBOX portable speaker were stolen from a home after it was entered through an unlocked rear door.

Theft from Vehicle – 200 block of Prince George St – 01/03 at 4:50am: An observant citizen called to report a man trying vehicle door handles in the area. Officers reportedly found James Thomas, 44, of Annapolis looking into a vehicle with a flashlight. Polic located an unlocked vehicle in the area that had been entered. The owner told officers that money and a flashlight were stolen from the vehicle. Thomas allegedly had the missing flashlight in his pocket. He was arrested and charged with theft, possession of burglar’s tools, and rogue and vagabond. Thomas was released by the District Court Commissioner.
