Man Threatens To Kill Ex, Surrenders To Annapolis Police
An Annapolis man is accused of forcing his way into his ex-girlfriend's house with a gun, threatening to kill her, police say.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A Laurel man accused of forcing his way into his ex-girlfriend's house with a gun and threatening to kill her faces multiple criminal charges, including home invasion, Annapolis Police say. Eric Burns, 20, had been calling and texting the woman after their break-up, and reportedly threatened to kill her.
Police say Burns drove to her home in the first block of Juliana Circle about 3:20 p.m. Wednesday wearing a black coat with the hood pulled up, a knit hat, a face mask and dark colored pants. A man standing in the doorway of the home told officers that as he approached the house, Burns pulled out a handgun. The man slammed the door shut, but Burns kicked it open and entered the home looking for his former girlfriend. When he didn't find her in the house, police say Burns drove away.
Burns continued to communicate with the woman and threatened her life, police say. Detectives communicated with Burns and persuaded him to come to the Annapolis Police Department, where he was arrested. Burns was charged with ten criminal counts, including home invasion, numerous handgun violations and assault charges.
