Man Walks Into Hospital with Gunshot Wound: Annapolis Police Reports

Also, roads will be closed downtown Wednesday for the governor's inauguration.

In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 91 calls for service and arrested 11 people.

Burglary – 700 block of Newtowne Dr – 01/16 at 12:01pm to 01/17 at 10am: Money and a men’s gold wedding band were stolen from a home. There was no sign of forced entry to the home.

Shooting – 700 block of Newtowne Dr – 01/20 at 6:55pm: Officers responded to the area for reports of shots fired and located a resident whose parked, unoccupied vehicle was struck by a bullet. At 7:16 p.m. Officers were notified by Anne Arundel Medical Center that a 28-year-old man from Annapolis arrived suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. The man told officers he was walking in the 700 block of Newtowne Dr when shots rang out and he was struck. The man was transported to Baltimore Shock Trauma for treatment.

Governor’s Inaugural Ceremony
The Governor’s Inaugural Ceremony is scheduled to take place today outside the State House. At8am all of State Circle will be closed to traffic. At 10am College Av will be closed from Church Circle to St. John’s St, Bladen St will be closed from Calvert St to College Av, Rowe Blvd will be closed at Calvert St, and Maryland Av will be closed at Prince George St. Streets are expected to remain closed until about 2 p.m.
