Nursing Homes Account For More Than Half Of Coronavirus Deaths
The Anne Arundel County Health Department reports that nursing home residents are "the most affected" by the new coronavirus pandemic.
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — More than 50 new coronavirus-related deaths have been reported at nursing homes in Anne Arundel County. According to the county health department, nursing home residents are "the most affected" by the pandemic.
“Residents of nursing homes account for more than half of the COVID-19 deaths in our county,” said Anne Arundel County Health Officer Nilesh Kalyanaraman, M.D. “We are taking additional action to protect our most vulnerable populations -- the elderly and those with chronic conditions.”
