Anne Arundel County fire officials emphasize the probe is ongoing, while neighbors' quick actions and first responders' efforts are credited with rescuing the injured man from the rubble.
   

2. Tennis Alliance of Anne Arundel County - Programming / Course (usta.com) — Wheelchair tennis players of all levels can join classes at Truxtun Park Tennis Courts in Annapolis on August 28 and 29, with instruction led by Brad Evans. The Tennis Alliance of Anne Arundel County is also hosting related sessions in Pasadena and a festival-style exhibition at the Naval Academy Brigade Sports Complex that same weekend.
   

3. Annapolis Boat Shows Return This Fall as City Dock Enters a New Era (eyeonannapolis.net) — Downtown Annapolis will again host the Annapolis Powerboat Show October 8–11 and the Annapolis Sailboat Show October 15–18 at City Dock, even as resiliency construction reshapes the waterfront. Expect hundreds of boats, marine gear, seminars, and on‑the‑water training, with layouts adjusted but strong ties maintained to local shops and restaurants.
   

4. The Bootleggers' Trust: Inside Maryland's Rebellious Prohibition Era (thebaynet.com) — A new historical feature digs into Maryland's rebellious approach to Prohibition and the rise of the organized "Bootleggers' Trust." Annapolis figures prominently, with flapper-era rum‑running schemes targeting Naval Academy midshipmen and St. John's students, showing how local campuses became unlikely fronts in the battle over illegal booze.
