Police: Alcohol May Be Factor in Fatal Crash

A Glen Burnie man's SUV went off an exit ramp and he was thrown from his vehicle early Saturday morning, police say.

Alcohol use by a Glen Burnie driver may have played a role in the early morning Saturday crash that killed him, authorities say.

Anne Arundel County Police say Brian Michael Tiesi, 29, of 170 Hammarlee Road in Glen Burnie, died before 4 a.m. when his SUV crashed.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash on the exit ramp from MD Rt. 695 east onto MD Rt. 10 south (Arundel Expressway).

Investigators say Tiesi’s Nissan Xterra SUV was exiting from eastbound MD Rt. 695 onto southbound MD Rt. 10 when the vehicle left the roadway.

The SUV struck the guardrail on the west side of the road, spun across the southbound lanes of the ramp, went off the east side of the road, rolled and stopped on the passenger side.

Tiesi was not restrained by a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle in the rollover. Police say he was declared dead at the scene.

The preliminary cause of the crash appears to be driver error. Speed did not appear to be a factor but there were possible signs of alcohol use, police said.
