Police Impersonator Charged With Shoplifting at Sears: Officials

Police say a man at Annapolis Mall was wearing badges from Prince George's County and Metropolitan police departments.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — An alleged shoplifter at Annapolis Mall was apparently wearing badges from two area police departments when he was taken into custody Wednesday.

Anne Arundel County Police charged Diamante Daqawn Scott, 21, of the 1300 block of Congress Street in Washington, D.C., with shoplifting and for impersonating a police officer.

Police were called to the Sears store at the mall about a shoplifting case. The store’s loss prevention officers told police they saw Scott reportedly steal a $12.99 printer cord. The suspect was then taken into custody without incident.
