Police: Lock Your Block to Deter Burglars
The Annapolis Police Department reminds residents to lock their doors and windows when leaving the house, and to lock up their cars.

After a rash of burglaries – many from unlocked homes and cars – Annapolis Police are reminding residents to lock up.
The department is promoting the slogan “Lock Your Block” in its daily crime reports.

Police are reminding residents of these theft-prevention tips:
- Take the time to lock your vehicle and remove valuable items.
- Double-check the door when you leave home and make sure all windows are closed and locked.
- Report suspicious activity to police by calling 410-268-4141 or, in an emergency, dial 911.
- Call police immediately if you are a victim of a crime and provide officers with descriptions and/or serial numbers of the items taken.
- Talk to your neighbors and encourage them to lock your block.
