Sonic Delivers Surprise Donation to Tyler Heights

Officials from Sonic surprised teachers at last week with a $2,000 donation for various programs at the school.

With help from Cherry Limeade, the restaurant's mascot, they presented a check to the school as part of Limeades for Learning, a program in partnership with DonorsChoose.org.

According to a release, Tyler Heights teachers submitted more than $2,000 in projects to be funded by the program.

The programs that will be funded through the donation include:

• Matthew Schlegel’s Build a Passion for Reading—Project for exciting and motivating children's books to promote literacy and fluency and build a strong passion for read.
• Paula Borinsky’s You Scream, I Scream, We All Scream for More Books!—Project for 25 books to feed students’ enthusiasm for reading.
• Nicole Sutton’s Let’s get ORGANIZED!—Project for organizer carts, bins, etc. that will allow the classroom materials to be easily accessible to kid.
