Suspect Charged with Robbing SunTrust Bank Twice

Prince George's County Police say the man robbed the location in February and again Friday, along with a Mount Rainier business in January.

A man has been arrested for robbing the same SunTrust bank in February and again on March 20, say Prince George’s County Police.

Carlton Llewellyn Chase Jr., 62, of no fixed address, has been charged in connection with both bank robberies, as well as the robbery of a third business in January, authorities say.

Police say Chase robbed the SunTrust bank in the 1900 block of Queens Chapel Road in Chillum on March 20. On Sunday, members of a neighboring jurisdiction stopped Chase on an unrelated matter, learned there was an outstanding warrant for Chase and that he matched the description of the suspect wanted for Friday’s bank robbery.

Prince George’s County detectives linked Chase to that robbery as well as the Feb. 11 robbery of the same SunTrust location. He’s also charged with the robbery of a business in Mount Rainier on Jan. 20.
