SUV Stolen From Fire Academy, Found In VA After Crash: Report

A man stole an SUV from the Anne Arundel County fire academy on Wednesday, police said. Officers found it in Virginia Friday after a crash.

MILLERSVILLE, MD — A man stole an SUV Wednesday from the Anne Arundel County Fire Department Training Academy in Millersville, police said. Officers found the car Friday in Virginia.

The Virginia State Police found the vehicle after it crashed near Newport News. Police identified the driver was Justin Joshua Carey.

The 27-year-old man may be experiencing homelessness, the Anne Arundel County Police Department said in a release. Officers added that Carey spends a lot of time near the intersection of Veterans Highway and East West Boulevard in Millersville.

Carey does not face any immediate charges in Maryland nor Virginia.
