Thanks Annapolis, Though It's Time to Ramble On

I don’t want to say this is farewell, but it is a goodbye.

Friday is my last day as editor of Greater Annapolis Patch and Historic Annapolis Patch.

Foremost I want to thank you for reading. But more than that, for embracing, interacting and sharing.

I’ve had the pleasure of sharing a little myself over the past year, but the heart of Patch has always been about you and the community we live in. You don’t need me to tell you how great of a community Annapolis is. All I have done is help you connect and interact more with it.

Throughout my career I’ve always strived to keep the community at the core of my coverage—the stories are about you, not me. It’s an old adage, but I’ve always liked to think I simply hold up a mirror, for better or worse.

I’ve lived in Hillsmere for only about six years and have been an editor with Patch since January 2011. I've known and worked with many of you for several years before that during my time at The Capital.

My wife is a Naval officer and we moved here when she was assigned to teach at the Naval Academy. We were fortunate that her current position allowed us to remain here.

And now, in a story many of you are more than familiar with, we are once again changing duty stations. We are gearing up for a move to Naval Air Station Jacksonville in Florida. I’ve never been there, but I’ve been told that as hot as I may think Annapolis summers have been, I ain’t seen nothing yet.

But like I said, this is not intended to be farewell, just a goodbye. We plan on our journeys eventually bringing us back to Annapolis.

And when they do, I look forward to once again sharing in your stories.
