UPDATE: No Bail for Woman Charged With Stabbing Grandmother Over Demons
A Pasadena woman is being held without bond for allegedly trying "cut the demons out" of her grandmother, police say.
UPDATED at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday PASADENA, MD — A Pasadena woman who allegedly stabbed her 82-year-old grandmother repeatedly to drive demons out had her bond request denied Wednesday, according to prosecutors.
Savannah Esperson Weaver, 20, of the 500 block of Second Street in Pasadena was released from a hospital and charged with attempted murder on Tuesday, according to Anne Arundel County Police. In court on Wednesday, a judge ordered a mental competency evaluation for Weaver, says the State's Attorney's office.
Police received a call from a family member who was not at the scene about the attack Sunday morning at a residence in the 500 block of Second Street in Pasadena. The caller said an elderly woman was stabbed by her granddaughter numerous times. When officers arrived, they found an 82-year-old suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Investigators say Weaver stabbed the victim in order to “cut the demons out of her.”
Weaver was taken into custody without incident, authorities say. She was released from a local hospital late Monday and was then charged with attempted murder and assault charges.

Fire Department personnel took the elderly victim by ambulance to Shock Trauma Medical Center in Baltimore. She was treated and released from the hospital.
