Annapolis Rock Radio Station Sold To Christian Broadcasting Company: Report

A rock radio station in Anne Arundel County was recently sold to a Christian broadcasting company for $1.5 million, a report said.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Eye On Annapolis reported that WRNR, a Maryland rock radio station, was recently sold to a Christian broadcasting company. The news outlet said Peter & John Radio Fellowship bought 103.1 FM for $1.54 million on Nov. 4.

WRNR is currently headquartered in Annapolis at 179 Admiral Cochrane Drive. Eye On Annapolis said the radio station may soon broadcast on 98.3 WSMD, also known as Star 98.3. That station is based in Mechanicsville, St. Mary's County.

The Federal Communications Commission still needs to approve the WRNR sale. The closing date is not yet known. WRNR is expected to switch formats when the sale closes, Eye On Annapolis said.
