1 Flown To Hospital Afer Pasadena Boat Crash: Officials
One boater was seriously hurt when his watercraft struck a piling on the Magothy River near Pasadena Thursday, officials say.

PASADENA, MD — One person was injured Thursday night when a boat crashed into a piling along the Magothy River near Inverness Road and Riverdale Road in Pasadena. A 9-1-1 caller said he saw a boat pass by him at a high rate of speed and then heard a collision about 10:15 p.m.
Anne Arundel County firefighters arrived to locate an incident in which a boat with two people on board struck a piling, seriously injuring one occupant.
Paramedics called for a Maryland State Police medevac helicopter, which landed at Lake Waterford Park. A 40-year-old man who was on the boat was taken by helicopter to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with injuries that were serious, but not believed to be life-threatening.

The person on the boat was evaluated on the scene by paramedics, but declined treatment at a hospital.
Maryland Natural Resources Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
