Anne Arundel County Police Warn Residents To Keep Cars Locked

A recent rash of car burglaries all across Anne Arundel County are prompting police to advise residents to keep their cars locked.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD -- Because of a recent string of car burglaries all across the county, police are reminding residents about the importance of locking their cars and removing any valuables that are within sight.

In just one weekend, there were 20 break-ins in the Millrace community within Millersville, confirmed Marc Limansk, public information officer for the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

"The vehicle break-ins have occurred throughout the county for the most part ... the biggest challenge is convincing folks to remove valuables from vehicles or keep them out of view and to lock their car doors. This would cut down on about 80 percent of the thefts from autos."
