Annapolis gallery to share holiday profits with Hospice of the Chesapeake

This holiday season, people can support local artists and Hospice of the Chesapeake at the same time by checking off their gift lists at West Annapolis Art Works & Fine Framing.
For their next show, “All That Glitters…Art for a Cause,” the gallery’s owner Su Anne Martinez and all of the participating artists unanimously decided to support Hospice of the Chesapeake. The Pasadena-based nonprofit will receive 20 percent of the profit for anything sold from the “All That Glitters” exhibit in the gallery.
Kellee Conrad, an exhibiting artist and gallery curator for the gallery, said that all of the items up for sale in the gallery will be very “giftable” artwork and high-end handcrafted items such as jewelry and ornaments. “It will be a beautiful show with golden stars strung from the ceiling for every donation made,” Conrad said.

The sale and show will run from Nov. 21 to Jan. 24 at the gallery at 4 Annapolis St., in West Annapolis. There also will be an opening reception, which will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 11.
“We are so pleased that Su Anne Martinez and the artists at West Annapolis Art Works have chosen to honor Hospice of the Chesapeake with this art show,” Hospice of the Chesapeake President and CEO Ben Marcantonio said. He added that the partnership is very fitting, as art serves an important role in the care of hospice patients. “It can uplift the spirit, soothe the soul and encourage self-expression during a difficult time,” he said.
