Boys And Girls Club Playground Set On Fire In Pasadena: Officials

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department believes the playground sustained an estimated $30,000 in damage.

PASADENA, MD — A fire set at the Freetown Village Boys and Girls Club playground Sunday shortly before 5:30 p.m. has caused an estimated $30,000 in damage. The playground, located in the 7800 block of Willing Court, was fully engulfed in flames when Anne Arundel County firefighters responded. The playground consists of plastic and metal with a rubber mulch base.

Firefighters reigned in the fire in approximately 10 minutes. The heat of the fire partially melted siding on two nearby homes, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. The cause of the fire is under investigation by members of the Anne Arundel County Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit. Investigators are requesting that anyone who may have seen anything unusual in that area or have photos or video of the fire to contact them.
