Chesapeake Grad Leads Georgetown Softball Team

Megan Hyson, a Chesapeake High School graduate, now pitches for Georgetown.

In March, Patch spoke with former Chesapeake High School softball player . Since then, the freshman has embraced her career as a pitcher for the Hoyas.

According to the Georgetown Hoyas athletics website, Hyson currently has a 2.71 ERA with 79 strikeouts in 11 starts and 73 innings pitched, which leads Georgetown’s pitching.   

While the Hoyas have struggled in conference, with a Big East record of 0-6 as of Tuesday, Hyson has performed exceptionally well.

While at Chesapeake High School, Hyson was named to The Washington Post All-Met team and The Baltimore Sun All-Met selection team.

Back in March, Hyson told Patch that the practices she had at Chesapeake helped prepare her for her career at Georgetown.

The Hoyas have about two and a half weeks left of the regular season, with their season finale to come April 29  at Louisville.
