D.C. Man Sentenced To Federal Prison For Anne Arundel Co. Robbery
A Washington, D.C., man has been sentenced to federal prison for committing armed robberies in Anne Arundel and Prince George's counties.
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — The man wanted for a string of armed robberies committed in 2017 in Anne Arundel and Prince George's counties has been sentenced. Leroy Percell Burrell, 32, of Washington, D.C., will spend 13.5 years in federal prison. He also will spend five years on supervised release.
In his guilty plea, Burrell admitted to committing three armed robberies between July and November 2017. All three were captured on surveillance video, the U.S. justice department said. Burrell was arrested by police at his apartment in November 2017. He was found with a loaded handgun and the belongings that had been stolen from the businesses seen on the surveillance video. Burrell also will be required to pay approximately $2,700 in restitution.
