PASADENA, MD — Authorities said a driver crashed into an unoccupied police car in Pasadena early Sunday morning. Officers did not list any injuries, but officials stated that they charged the suspect with driving under the influence/driving while intoxicated and other traffic offenses. Officials identified the arrestee as 42-year-old Jonathan Wei Ming Oughton of Columbia.
Police informed that the accident happened around 12:35 a.m. on westbound Maryland Route 100 at Waterford Road. Officers explained that they were directing traffic in the area after a fatal accident that occurred a few hours earlier further up the highway.
Authorities noted that they left the cruiser with its overhead emergency lights on. An incident report added that the gray Nissan Pathfinder struck the police car, causing the cruiser to spin and hit another law enforcement vehicle. The officers were able to dive out of the way, the Anne Arundel County Police Department clarified.
