‘En Blanc et Noir’ brings black and white photography to the walls of Gallery 90

Eight Maryland artists selected by Chesapeake Arts Center to show at Hospice of the Chesapeake

As beautiful as a color-laden photo can be, there is something to be said about removing the distraction of hue to get to the nitty gritty of texture, shadows, contrast and composition. With Gallery 90’s new exhibit, “En Blanc et Noir,” you will find the work of several Chesapeake Arts Center Gallery artists in black and white.

The exhibit will run from July 10 to Sept. 1 in the art gallery that is located throughout the Hospice of the Chesapeake’s administrative building on the John & Cathy Belcher Campus at 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, Maryland.

Eight artists will be featured in the show: Robert Fawcett, Brandi Foster, Wayne Johnson II, Kimmary MacLean, Deirdre McQuade, Robert Peterson, Nicolas Raymond (whose piece “Foggy Kirkjulfellsfoss” is featured above) and Erica Rodriguez. Each of these Maryland artists has been selected for their work in black and white photography.
