Because of debris in the Chesapeake Bay following recent hurricanes, the Catch A Special Thrill fishing event has been rescheduled. Youth ages 6 to 18 with disabilities are invited to register by Oct. 17 for a half day of fishing on the Bay, courtesy of the C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation and the Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks.

Youngsters are invited to participate at the YMCA Camp Letts in Edgewater on Oct. 23 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers will provide boats for the youth to experience a morning on the Bay. They’ll learn how to fish and go home with their very own fishing reel and new-found knowledge of the joy of fishing and boating. The program is free to youth ages 6 to 18 with disabilities on a first come, first serve basis.

The program can accommodate 40 youth with one parent or guardian. All youth must be with an adult older than age 18.
