The Chesapeake seniors have also had a rough season thus far. The Cougars lost 53-42 Tuesday night against Broadneck, to fall to 16-1 on the season. A victory against their rivals would be solid senior night outcome.

Herget said the girls have been working hard at practice and are games.

“As a whole we have really come around the last few games and have worked pretty hard and came together as a team—staying in games against competitive teams,” Herget said. “We are continuing to focus on working hard, winning the 50/50 balls, and taking care of the ball. If we continue to do those things as a team we will finish the season strong.”

Despite both team’s struggles this season, the cross-town rivalry always proves to be an exciting matchup.

“I think when it comes to this rival matchup there is always a little bit more intensity for each team,” Delfs said. “I am looking forward to see the rematch on Friday night.”
