Man Charged With Killing Mom In Struggle On Valentine's Day
A Brooklyn man has been charged with the murder of his mother during a struggle on Valentine's Day; he called 911 to report her death.

BROOKLYN, MD — A Brooklyn man who called 911 to say someone had killed his mother and fled the home was charged with her mother. Anne Arundel County Police say Brent Ryan Faulkner, 25, of the 5200 block of Wasena Avenue, killed his mom during a struggle on Valentine's Day.
Faulkner called police just before 3 p.m. Thursday to initially report a burglary during which Dona Lee Faulkner, 52, was murdered, police said. Officers met with Brent Faulkner outside the house, while investigators found Dona Faulker dead from apparent trauma inside the residence. Fire department personnel pronounced her dead at the scene; authorities have not said how she was killed.
Brent Faulkner was taken to the Criminal Investigation Division to be interviewed, while homicide detectives executed a search warrant on the residence, and took evidence from Brent Faulkner’s person and clothing that he was wearing.

According to police, the crime scene indicated a struggle took place in the residence and Dona Faulkner tried to defend herself during the assault. Detectives and evidence technicians documented fresh injuries on Brent Faulkner’s body.
He was charged with the first- and second-degree murder. Evidence indicates that this was a targeted incident and not a random act of violence, police said.
