New Red Light Camera Goes Live This Month In Anne Arundel Co.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — If you weren't already being a cautious driver, consider yourself warned: a new red light camera is coming to a stretch of road in Anne Arundel County this month.

Officials announced Thursday that an automated camera would be installed on the southbound lanes of Ritchie Highway and W. Ordnance Road in Glen Burnie.

While the new installation goes live July 16, the Anne Arundel County Police Department said a 30-day warning period would be implemented.

After the term ends, any drivers violating traffic laws will be subject to a $75 fine.

However, if the fine goes unpaid, the offending driver will have their vehicle registration flagged in addition to being charged an undisclosed fee.

The announcement comes after the department previously revealed that a new speed camera was being installed in the Odenton area, near the Two Rivers Elementary School.
