Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks serves millions of residents and visitors annually through a wide variety of services and programs. Its primary focus is to provide comprehensive recreational programs for residents and safeguard valuable land through the maintenance and management of over 160 parks and natural areas. The department manages specialized recreational facilities, including two swim centers, two golf courses, three ice rinks, a baseball stadium, a softball complex, and programs tailored to diverse needs ranging from school-age childcare to adaptive recreation. It also cares for thousands of acres of land, encompassing community parks, greenways, archaeological sites, environmental and historical preserves, and large regional parks spanning several hundred acres. Its mission is to create opportunities that allow individuals to enjoy life, explore nature, and restore their health and well-being. The North County Republican meeting will be held Thursday, April 10th, at 7:00 pm at The Big Vanilla Fitness Club, 26 Magothy Beach Road, Pasadena. Our guest speakers this month will be the legislative representatives from District 31:  Senator Bryan Simonaire, Delegates Don Dwyer, Nic Kipke and Steve Schuh, who will give us a Legislative Wrap-up on the 2014 legislative session.   In addition, meet 2014 House of Delegate candidates Terry Lynn Degraw, District 31A, Jamie Falcon, District 33 and Jeffrey Ferguson,  District 33.  For more information, contact David Zwald, President, 443-995-8365. The Sound We Make brings together the best of Annapolis’ vibrant music scene for a one-night collaboration that bridges genres, generations, and artistic voices.
Featuring original works by local singer-songwriters including Dean Rosenthal, Jimi Haha, Wordslave, and Madisun Bailey, this unique performance pairs contemporary songwriting with live orchestration by the Annapolis Chamber Orchestra and students from the Chesapeake Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Each artist’s work is expanded through collaboration with the Annapolis Chamber Orchestra and students from the Chesapeake Youth Symphony Orchestra, adding depth, color, and new dimension to their original songs. The Sound We Make celebrates collaboration across musical traditions while connecting audiences through a shared appreciation of artistry, creativity, and community.
