Pasadena Retiree Wins $50K With Numbers Matching Game

PASADENA, MD — A Pasadena retiree has her family to thank for her $50,030 recent win on a Bonus Match 5. The retiree has played this particular game for quite some time using her loved ones' birthdays and it finally paid off.

She couldn't believe her luck when she checked in her numbers on a ticket she bought Oct. 16.

“We were in bed watching TV. I had to get my super-duper glasses because the (number) 26 didn’t look like a 26," she told the Maryland Lottery.

The retiree was in disbelief at what she saw. She even asked her husband to double-check her numbers. Then she signed the ticket immediately and tucked it in the couple's safe. The ticket was bought at Royal Farms in Pasadena.

This lucky 57-year-old has claimed smaller five-figure prizes in the past including $11,000 in combined prizes this year on a couple of Pick 4 tickets. Her biggest prize to date will be used for their retirement, she told the Maryland Lottery.
