Stop Bullying in Anne Arundel County Public Schools

Possible solutions to the harassment and bullying within our local schools

This is a message to all parents to put everything in writing, take pictures, and not rely on the school system to do the right thing.

Did you know that there was a lot of bullying going on in our schools? Did you know that most faculties don't do anything about it? If you are one of the parents with a student being bullied and you aren't
getting anywhere with your school then it is time to step up and try to do something about it. You are not alone. Check out the Facebook group Stop bullying in Anne Arundel county public schools. These people
have been trying to get not only the schools but the board of education to listen to what is going on.

Last night they went before the board to tell their stories. Although, most are talking about 2 particular schools, I know that there has to be more schools then just these 2 that are experiencing the same.
Let your voice be heard. Join our group on Facebook.

They made a big impact on it and asked, no demanded “that the superintendent’s new term be subject to a full
independent audit by the state. That request was sent this morning to the state superintendent. As the leader of our schools, the ongoing systemic dysfunction, mental/physical abuse and hostile learning
environments that our children are enduring falls on his shoulders. I was further appalled to hear that the board is aware of these issues as stated by the board president, Julie Hummer last night. Areas for
review would included Title IX adherence, Bullying and Intimidation reporting and follow-up practices, Climate Survey reporting and subsequent equitable disciplinary actions.”

If your child is being bullied the first thing you should do after each incident is fill out a bully report online. Make sure a copy of it goes to the school and the board of education. You can send it to all board members with finding who they are here.
You can also email the principal, assistant principal, SRO/Office of Security, guidance counselor, all their teachers, all in one email & direct the assist principal to respond.

Keep a record of all forms, pictures, and incidents for each and every time it happens. Put them in a folder with dates, names, what happened, any witnesses, who you reported it to, and keep it close in case you have to go back to it.

If nothing is done on the school or by the board of education, you can call George Arlotto 410-222-5000 superintendent of AACPS.

If nothing is still not being done then it is time to call the police. Make sure you have your folder with you to prove that you have contacted all the above and nothing is being done.

Don't wait until your child is ready to commit suicide and/or kill someone over this contact the police and and attorney and take back their lives.

The next step is to get an attorney and sue everyone involved from the parents of the child doing the bullying, to school, and the board. We call it due process and equal protection rights under the 14th Amendment.
Officials failed to protect him/her from assault and harassment at school, negligence and gross negligence count.

A hot topic these days is bullying. If a school fails to take appropriate action to protect a child from being bullied, the child-through his parents-could file a lawsuit against school officials for any physical/emotional injuries. If a judgment was obtained against, say for example and teacher and a school principal,
the judgment would only be collectible against the School Board, and not against the individuals (unless they acted with malice or with gross negligence).

If your child was injured due to the negligence of school officials feel free to call a personal injury lawyer.
