Teacher Arrested For Engaging In Sex Acts With A Student
A substitute teacher with Anne Arundel County Public Schools plied a student with alcohol and had sex with the teen, police say.
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — A student at North County High School in Glen Burnie reportedly had sex with a substitute teacher who supplied him with alcohol during the school year. The high school student reported the incidents on June 4 to the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
The Anne Arundel County Child Abuse Unit launched an investigation into the allegations and the suspect was identified as Anne Arundel County Public Schools substitute teacher Alexis Merecedes Boberg, 25, of Severn. The student told police that in May 2019, Boberg exchanged phone numbers with him and then met the victim off school property at various locations. During those meetings Boberg reportedly gave the teen alcohol and engaged in sexual activities.
On June 5, detectives with the police department's child abuse unit executed a search warrant at the suspect’s address. Numerous items were taken into police custody as evidence. Through witness interviews and recovered evidence, detectives obtained an arrest warrant on Friday, June 14, charging Boberg with two counts of a fourth-degree sex offense with a person in a position of authority, along with one count of consuming an alcoholic beverage while on public property.

On Monday morning, June 17, Boberg reported to the Western District Police Station in Odenton, where she was taken into custody without incident. The Anne Arundel County school system immediately removed Boberg from having any further contact with children when school officials were notified of the allegation.
The student also took classes at the Center of Applied Technologies North, 800 Stevenson Road in Severn.
