'Understanding Palliative Care'
Hospice of the Chesapeake and UM BWMC host community seminar on palliative care

Hospice of the Chesapeake and the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center will kick off the celebration of National Hospice and Palliative Care Month by co-hosting a community seminar, “Understanding Palliative Care,” at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2.
Join palliative care experts from both health care organizations as they explore the differences between hospice and palliative care as well as how to discuss the many options with your loved ones and health care team.
Often confused with hospice care, palliative care is a specialized type of health care for patients with serious health conditions that aims to improve their quality of life. Appropriate at any stage of an illness, it can be used along with curative treatments and is often an extra layer of support to help provide relief from symptoms and manage stress.
