Man With Taser Robbed Woman At Bank Of America In Arbutus: Police
Police have charged an Arbutus man with armed robbery and other offenses in connection with a holdup involving a Taser.
ARBUTUS, MD — An Arbutus man has been charged in connection with a robbery at the Bank of America on East Drive, according to police.
Authorities released surveillance photos of the suspect in the April 21 robbery onWednesday morning, and within hours they said they had identified the suspect.
Steven Vincent Allen, 56, of the 5200 block of Benson Avenue, is charged with armed robbery, robbery, first and second-degree assault, theft and other charges, police said.

According to officials, Allen was being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

The suspect is believed to be a homeless man who frequents the Arbutus area and walks with a "distinctive shuffle-type gait," police said.
The robbery occurred as a woman was getting out of her car in the Bank of America parking lot in the 5200 block of East Drive.
Police said the suspect approached her, held a black Taser to her neck and tried to grab her purse.
Instead of complying, she shoved the would-be robber, who dropped his Taser, according to officials. She dropped her handbag.
The man picked up $9, which had fallen out of the purse, and walked toward the Dollar General store in the nearby shopping center. The robbery occurred at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 21, police said.
The suspect was described as a man approximately 45 to 60 years old with long, stringy brown hair. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a distinctive red and black Nascar jacket and racing hat. Police said the items were found discarded in a storm drainage ditch nearby.
