Pregnant Wife, Husband Dead In Domestic Case Spanning Baltimore County, City
The pregnant woman was shot and killed by her husband, police said.

BALTIMORE, MD — A pregnant woman and her unborn baby died after a shooting Sunday, according to the Baltimore Police Department, which reported the suspect — her husband — was found dead in Baltimore County.

Officers responded to the 4800 block of Claybury Avenue at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday for a report of gunshots and, although they did not find a victim, they saw evidence that a shooting had occurred. Officials reported finding shell casings and blood behind the residence, and witnesses told police they saw the husband who lived there pulling his wife out of the front of their vehicle and putting her in the back of the vehicle.

At 5:40 p.m, authorities said that a pregnant woman had been found outside St. Agnes Hospital with gunshot wounds to her body. She died shortly after she was located; and despite the efforts of hospital staff, the 20-week-old unborn baby died as well, according to police.
Authorities said the case was believed to be domestic related and was not random. Before the shootings, the couple had been at a family function where they got into an argument, according to Baltimore Police Captain Jones.

Police said that the suspect was the woman's husband, who was found deceased in Baltimore County. Deron Deandre Barnes, 34, of the 4800 block of Claybury Avenue, was believed to have died by a self-inflicted gunshot wound after leaving his wife in a vehicle at the hospital, according to Baltimore Police Chief of Media Relations T.J. Smith.
