Yearwood had been trying to sleep and the puppies were making noise, so he stomped on and kicked them, threw them down a flight of stairs, put them in a box and left, witnesses told police.
Hours later, police were called after four puppies were found in a dumpster by a group of children in the 1200 block of Cambria Street. Three puppies were pronounced deceased and a fourth was taken to an animal hospital, where officials said he later died.
