Baltimore County Kicks Off 2020 Census
Over the next several months, residents will start seeing more information on how they can participate in the next Census.
BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — County Executive Johnny Olszewski on Tuesday declared July 30 as the official Baltimore County Census Kick-Off. Over the next several months, residents will start seeing more information on how they can participate in the next Census.
Every 10 years, the Census helps determine the area’s congressional representation, legislative redistricting and federal formula grant allocations. Maryland receives more than $13 billion in federal funds annually and uses Census data to allocate funds for more than 70 state programs, including health, human services, education and transportation.
In order to ensure Baltimore County receives federal resources, it’s essential every Baltimore County resident is counted as part of the 2020 Census, Olszewski said in a news release.
