On Tuesday morning, Mayor Catherine Pugh said that the city had largely been "spared" by the storm, which did not receive as much snow as anticipated, hence the rolling back of the winter storm warning to a winter weather advisory.
Baltimore City snow crews have been pre-treating roadways since Sunday afternoon in preparation for the storm. At 4 p.m. on Monday, the city opened its emergency operations center. Crews were in full force monitoring conditions and treating city streets throughout the night and early morning hours for Tuesday's commute. City officials said there had been fewer police and fire incidents than usual overnight, in a report Tuesday morning.
How can I prepare? Charge electronic devices and make sure you have batteries, a snow shovel and salt as well as food and water. Fill up the gas tank in your car. Check on neighbors and older adults. In the event of a power outage, call BGE at 1-877-778-2222 or report the outage online. Only travel in an emergency and if you have to travel, remove snow from your vehicle; do not pass working snow plows; keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency; give yourself additional travel time; and allow extra stopping distance.

Flight Delays: Flights from many East Coast cities are being delayed as the storm moves in Monday evening. You can check for delays at BWI, Dulles, Reagan and other airports.
