Body Found In Water Near Canton: Report
A person was reportedly found in the water off Clinton Street Tuesday night in southeast Baltimore.
BALTIMORE, MD — A body was reportedly recovered from the Canton waterfront Tuesday night in southeast Baltimore. Emergency personnel were summoned to the 2000 block of South Clinton Street for a report of a body in the water around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, according to WBAL.
Officials recovered the body of the individual, who has not been identified.
It was unclear whether severe weather factored into the person's death, WMAR reported.

The call about the body came as emergency personnel in the city were inundated with requests to handle everything from fires to flooding after severe thunderstorms hit Baltimore.
Before 7 p.m., a building was struck by lightning on Greenmount Avenue, sparking a three-alarm fire.

By 7:30 p.m., the Baltimore firefighters union said the city had requested help from surrounding counties to handle the influx of calls, while roads flooded in Fells Point, midtown and other areas.
The Baltimore County Fire Department sent nine engines to assist in the city, officials there reported after 9:30 p.m.
