Firefighters Make Mayday Call At Baltimore House Fire: Officials

BALTIMORE, MD — Mayday was declared Wednesday morning when four firefighters fell into a basement after the floor gave way at a house in east Baltimore, officials said. All appeared to be OK, according to the Baltimore City firefighters union.

The house fire was in the 1700 block of Cliftview Avenue, officials reported before 6:40 a.m.

Authorities said the scene of the blaze was a vacant two-story home.
