Friday Traffic Alert From Baltimore Department Of Transportation
Prepare for major congestion downtown Friday, Sept. 13, the Baltimore City Department of Transportation advises.
BALTIMORE, MD — Officials say that "substantial traffic volumes" are likely downtown Friday. Heavy traffic is anticipated from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, according to the Baltimore City Department of Transportation.
Vice President Mike Pence will be addressing Republicans during the GOP retreat at the Marriott Waterfront in Harbor East. Pence is reportedly addressing lawmakers during a luncheon at the event.
There may be temporary intersection closures from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. that cause delays, and city officials advise drivers to give themselves extra time.

Commuters whose routes include the downtown corridor are strongly encouraged to use mass transit such as MTA buses, the light rail, subway and Charm City Circulator.
Traffic enforcement officers will be directing traffic throughout the day, according to authorities.

The traffic alert comes the day after President Donald Trump was in town delivering a speech at the Republican summit. He was in Baltimore from about 6:45 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday.
