The Metallica concert is likely to cause congestion downtown on Wednesday, Baltimore transportation officials say.

BALTIMORE, MD — Drivers should expect increased traffic in downtown Baltimore on Wednesday, May 10, due to the Metallica concert at M&T Bank Stadium.

During the afternoon rush hour, additional traffic is anticipated. Drivers should plan ahead and anticipate delays. The concert starts at 6 p.m. but doors open at 4 p.m. and people can start lining up at noon. The concert is sold out.

Charm City is the first stop in the U.S. on the band's WorldWired tour. The group will be primarily appearing at baseball and football stadiums at more than a dozen U.S. cities. It marks the first time Metallica will be on an extended tour of the U.S. and Canada since 2009, according to a statement from the band.
