Maury Donnelly & Parr, Inc. Earns Make More Happen™ Award Nomination for Supporting Baltimore Hunger Project

Liberty Mutual has awarded Maury Donnelly & Parr, Inc. a 2026 Make More Happen™ Award for its impactful partnership with Baltimore Hunger Project, a nonprofit dedicated to removing barriers to learning by providing weekend food and resources to children experiencing food insecurity throughout Baltimore City and Baltimore County. The award includes a $5,000 donation, which can be doubled to $10,000 through online community support.

If the story receives at least 750 combined votes and comments, the $5,000 award will be doubled. The $10,000 Make More Happen Award would help Baltimore Hunger Project expand its reach to even more children facing food insecurity. With just $30 providing a month's worth of weekend meals for one child, the award could make a meaningful difference for hundreds of children and families across the Baltimore community.

Since 2024, Maury Donnelly & Parr, Inc. has proudly supported Baltimore Hunger Project, inspired by the organization's mission to ensure children have reliable access to nutritious food outside of the school week. Located just minutes from the agency's headquarters in Cockeysville, the nonprofit's work has become a meaningful way for employees to give back to their local community.

The agency's support is both hands-on and consistent. Groups of approximately 20 employees volunteer at Baltimore Hunger Project's warehouse, where they pack care packages filled with shelf-stable food that fit discreetly into children's backpacks for the weekend. During a typical two-hour volunteer session, the team assembles nearly 600 food packages. Employees who are unable to volunteer in person also contribute by writing handwritten notes of encouragement that are included in each backpack, offering children not only nourishment but also a reminder that their community cares.

Before volunteers begin packing, Baltimore Hunger Project invites participants to reflect on the realities of childhood food insecurity by sharing personal stories and experiences, whether their own or those of someone they know. The conversation provides powerful perspective and reinforces the lasting impact even a few hours of volunteer service can have.

Through its ongoing partnership with Baltimore Hunger Project, Maury Donnelly & Parr, Inc. is helping ensure more children arrive at school on Monday mornings nourished, focused, and ready to learn, giving them the opportunity to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

Throughout 2026, Liberty Mutual Insurance will select up to 36 independent agencies nationwide for a Make More Happen Award, donating up to $360,000 to nonprofits they support. Agencies become eligible for the award by submitting applications that highlight their commitment to a specific cause.
