BALTIMORE, MD — If you're looking to get breakfast somewhere off the beaten path, you may want to hit Greenmount Avenue in north Baltimore. Pete's Grille recently made it onto The Daily Meal's list of "America's 75 Best Hole-in-the-Wall Restaurants." It was the only Maryland eatery featured.

The restaurant is designed as a long counter that seats 28 as its staff serves up breakfast and lunch, seven days a week. Pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, omelets, French toast, chicken and waffles and other homestyle favorites sizzle in front of patrons.

A restaurant had to meet these criteria to make the best hole-in-the-wall restaurants list, according to The Daily Meal: It is small and does not look like much on the outside but provides delicious fare and a sense of "that feeling that this is the place and that there's nowhere else quite like it" on the inside.
