Police Identify 5 of 6 Victims Killed in Baltimore Bus Crash

Baltimore Police released the names of those who died Tuesday in school bus, MTA bus collision.

BALTIMORE, MD - The Baltimore Police Department released the names of the six victims who died in a bus crash on Frederick Avenue Tuesday morning in southwest Baltimore.

  • School bus driver Glenn R. Chappell, 67; worked in unit block of South Franklintown Road, Baltimore, MD 21223.
  • MTA bus driver Ebonee Danell Baker, 33; worked in 1500 block of Washington Boulevard, Baltimore, MD 21230.

  • Cherry Denise Yarborough, 51; 5100 Woolverton Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21225.
  • Terance Lee Casey, 52; 200 block of Saint Matthews Street, Baltimore, MD 21202.
  • Gerald Holloway, 51; 600 Dumbarton Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21218.
  • 46-year-old woman of no fixed address; next of kin not yet determined.

Three people remained hospitalized in critical, fair and serious condition at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, police reported Wednesday morning. Seven others were treated and released from a local hospital.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a school bus was eastbound on Frederick Avenue when it hit a Mustang, struck a pillar at Loudon Park Cemetery and continued eastbound, where it traveled into oncoming traffic and hit the driver's side of an MTA bus before 7 a.m. on Tuesday, according to police.

The National Transportation Safety Board and Baltimore Police Department are investigating the cause of the crash.
